'Tis the season to be spooky, even amid coronavirus. Here's a look at fall fun and Halloween events in and around Arlington Heights.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Coronavirus has taken its toll on Illinois, canceling events and postponing sports, graduations and even weddings, but there’s one thing it hasn’t taken from us: Fall fun.

From pumpkin patches to apple orchards to corn mazes and fall events, there’s plenty to keep us busy as the weather turns cool and crisp.

Here’s a roundup of the places in and around Arlington Heights where you can pick a pumpkin, gather up fall apples, wind your way through a corn maze or attend a safe and socially distanced fall event.

Pumpkin Patches, Corn Mazes Near Arlington Heights

Pumpkin Patch: Historic Wagner Farm

Other Halloween Events In Arlington Heights

Pumpkin Splash

4-8 p.m. Oct. 24. From the Arlington Heights Park District. There are four different sessions at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Come bob for pumpkins at Arlington Ridge Center! The activity pool will be having floating plastic pumpkins and harvest eggs containing candy or toys. Pre-registration is required. 2 family members allowed per child. Face coverings must be worn by all family members unless in the water. Register here.


Trunk-Or-Treat: Drive-Thru Edition

4-6:45 p.m. Oct. 30. From the Arlington Heights Park District. Register by car. 1 car per registration. Cars that are not registered will not be allowed to attend. Please arrive within your time slot only. Emails with more information will be sent out the week of the event. Register based off the location you wish to be your starting point. North Side will begin at Lake Arlington and South Side will begin at Melas. Register here.
